Our Operations

The Department of Psychiatry at Akademiska sjukhuset is organized into four subspecialized sections, including the section for addiction and neuropsychiatry. In this section, there are two wards: 4A focusing on addiction/pain and general psychiatric conditions, and 4B focusing on withdrawal/acute addiction conditions. In outpatient care, we have the addiction medicine clinic, neuropsychiatric clinic, LARO clinic, and psychiatric clinics in Enköping and Norduppland. We are located in modern facilities at Akademiska sjukhuset and in the Northern region with locations in Tierp and Gimo.

Your Mission

As a junior doctor with us, you will work with psychiatric diagnostics and treatment of the conditions for which patients are cared for. Together with specialist doctors, nurses, caregivers, psychologists, and social workers, you will be responsible for our patients. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop through stimulating meetings with patients and colleagues, as well as through supervision. Together we create a developing and challenging workplace.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with a broad and genuine interest in psychiatry. In your work, you always put the patient in focus. You have a good ability to communicate. You should be humble, responsible, curious, and meticulous. Previous experience in psychiatry is an advantage. If this describes you, the psychiatry department at Akademiska sjukhuset may be the right challenge for you. With supervision from specialist doctors, you will also have the opportunity to gain experience and competence that will be assessed when applying for a ST position. You will also have the opportunity to participate in our on-call operations, which are shared across the entire psychiatry department at Akademiska sjukhuset.

We Offer

We offer temporary positions from 2026-02-01 to 2026-08-31. Full-time position. Start date by agreement. Prior to employment, extracts from suspicion and criminal records will be taken.
